Tom Waits is arguably an acquired taste. Sometimes he can be a little too much, but sometimes... he's just right! My guitar sounds are mostly meant as complement to the lovely piano accompaniment.

Recently Willie took in about 70 or so horses that now call his ranch their home. His first release from a new CD coming out in June... Also the song that the curs and I will be singing, at the top of our lungs, while we walk!

This song was written and performed by Anthony Da Costa and accompanied by Sarah Jarosz. Sarah Jarosz needs no introduction and Anthony Da Costa played in her group, at least for awhile and, I think, performs as a solo act now. A very talented songwriter and voice...

There is just something undeniably appealing to me about this song! There is probably about 1 cent's worth of difference between the Don Rigsby version and the Paul Brewster version, but one plays it in "E" and the version I chose is in "F." I'm not sure why that made a difference, but it did! Maybe there was a slight difference in the instrumentation... My part on the new Madsen...

A pretty song by "Jesse and Joy," a brother and sister duo. My portion is played on the brand new Madsen "Ditson Florentine" model, six-string guitar! It is without reserve the most incredible instrument I've ever touched, much less played!

I wanted to give you an idea of how it sounds... I am very pleased with it. Not that I won't try to do even better, but this one finally starts to sound like what I've been trying to do all along! I started out with no enhancements added to the sound- just amplified so it will record properly. And then: I decided I had to put a little melody part in, and, of course, that just had to have some enhancement so you could hear it above the rhythm part. Just some repetitive chords with a little noting on top!
I still have to take it apart again and do a little more fret dressing and sanding and, of course, finishing! I'm probably going to try my hand at "French Polishing"... My first try at that. If it doesn't look like what I want it to, I'll just sand it off and apply lacquer as usual.
